In 2006, after conducting an on-site inspection of Jiangyin Hengrun Flange Co., Ltd., Japan’s Mitsui Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. placed an immediate order for two containers’ worth of stainless steel flanges. This marked the first time that Chinese flanges had entered the Japanese marine market.

  Jiangyin is an important export hub for stainless steel flanges in China. More than ten flange-exporting enterprises have obtained certifications from ISO9000 quality systems and the German Technical Inspection Association, among others. From January to October of this year, Jiangyin has exported 1,537 batches—totaling 23,800 tons—of flanges to markets including Europe and the U.S., Australia, and Israel, with a total value of 110 million U.S. dollars, setting yet another record high for previous years.
